Clare Blackwell is a figurative visual artist whose richly expressive and colourful works in paint and printmaking explore botanical shapes and forms, the vibrancy of light, colour and form in space and the ordinary, wonderful moments of living. Originally from Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, Clare is based on Dublin’s Northside, and working from Dublin Print Club, FLUX Studio’s Chatham Row. Clare is a graduate of Limerick School of Art & Design in Visual Communication and Visual Art Education.
Clare has been awarded the Arts Council Agility Award for 2024, 2023 and 2022, in summer 2024 completing a residency at Scuola Grafica Venezia in sustainable printmaking practices towards the development of her print based work and creative practice.
